Port-like body

This is a very drinkable wine, lighter than a port with similar bold flayed and not cloyingly sweet. There is a fragrant nose, hints of nutmeg and definitely can smell the grape. The color is rich and deep red/purple. The flavor is rich, Concord grape, caramel, hint of raisin come through and none is overpowering. A nicely balanced wine for dessert or aperitif. Would definitely pair with fruit and cheese, charcuterie, flatbread or a light dessert. This was only sampled at slightly below room temperature, but could also benefit from being served warm, dare I even suggest, mulled.

Best port in a winter storm

I’ve tried other port-like dessert wines in our region and this is my favorite. Perfect for an evening reading in front of the wood stove or with holiday guests.

It was my favorite!

I usually like whites, but this was not too dry and it had a touch of sweetness.
